Hey! Where are we going?

A race here and a race there.
I am here,
ever still as an ancient tree,
Observing,
Everybody is in hurry,
Racing and running,
I see robots.
I see machines,
Competing to finish a task.
Is it living?
Really living?
Where are they going?
Why so much noises and fuss?
Why so much shoving and roughing?
Why so serious?
Its simple, life is uncertain and short.
Why complicate?
Hello! We are just an atom in the universe,
Puny and insignificant.
Microscopic!
Microscopic and dramatic.
Sorry! But true
Death is hovering 24/7,
And uncertainty is the theme.
We could be wiped out tomorrow.
Dark much?
Amongst billions of galaxies and unknown cosmic forces,
Won’t be too bizarre, would it?
Small scenes constantly blurring the full picture,
Overwhelmed and overpowered.
We are collapsing in ourselves.
Oblivious!
Aren’t we losing what it means to be human?
The smartest animal,
Priceless ability to contemplate and communicate.
Is losing human warmth our evolution?
Is becoming cold lifeless machines our goal?
